History & Background

Jiuzhaigou Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for its 108 colorful alpine lakes, multi-tiered waterfalls, and snow-capped peaks. The valley was formed by glacial activity and calcium carbonate deposits that create the lakes' vivid blue and green colors. Home to Tibetan villages, it was opened to tourists in 1984 and has become one of China's most visited natural attractions.
