History & Background

The North Face Everest Base Camp in Tibet sits at 5,200m elevation, offering spectacular views of Mount Everest's north face. Unlike the more crowded South Base Camp in Nepal, the Tibetan side provides unobstructed views of the entire north face. The base camp was established in the 1960s for Chinese mountaineering expeditions.
